Job Summary

KBR is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to support the acquisition of Tanker Recap/NGAS (Next Generation Air refueling System) systems and dissect the integration of advanced avionics and sensor systems and subsystems for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/WLY). Candidate should be experienced and successful at solving complex system integration and engineering issues enjoy working in a dynamic responsive and collaborative environment and dedicated to the success of our customers against advanced persistent threats.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Knowledge of systems engineering principles verification and validation of requirements and understanding the Air Forces acquisition processes is required
• Guide and mentor the USG engineering force how to comply with the principles of Government Reference Architectures as a part of their daily duties
• Work concepts for MAF Connectivity enterprise (C3BM JADC2 ABMS etc.)
• Assist in defining lowerlevel technical details (e.g. data rates message formats etc.)
• Support our engagement with partners to develop Communication/Connectivity LRU and capabilities for Tanker Recap and MAF; and specifically with KC46 and KC135.
• Includes working with all of WL Divisions
• Roll these into our lowerlevel systems requirements; along with OEMs
• These requirements will update the PPP/ISP/AT Plans etc.
• Utilize digital system models to document these requirements/interfaces/etc
• Provide technical inputs assessments and management of program engineering efforts in support of the acquisition strategy for each case
• Coordinate with program manager for specific design requirement and understand the requirement for the tasks

• Ability to Draft review coordinate and update (as necessary) Engineering Analysis documents
• Strong communication skills with customers end users and analysts in order to provide recommended contractual language to specific testrelated sections of solicitations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field and 15 years of directly related experience is required
• Experience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Government Reference Architecture (GRA)
• Current experience and knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes and other service specific requirements is preferred
• Ideal candidate would have experience with system engineering processes and experience with Avionics and sensor analysis
• Active DOD Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ACAT Level I programs desired
