Primary Purpose
The University of the Pacific is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Track & Field Coach with a proven track record in recruiting and developing studentathletes across multiple disciplines with a primary focus on jumps multievents and pole vault. This individual will play a pivotal role in recruiting both domestically and internationally and in elevating our competitive success in the West Coast Conference.
Essential Functions
Lead recruiting efforts for the track and field program with emphasis on building a diverse competitive and academically strong roster. Design and implement training programs for vertical jumps multievents and pole vault with the flexibility to support additional event groups as needed. Identify and recruit highpotential studentathletes on a national and international scale. Serve as a liaison between academic support staff and studentathletes ensuring strong academic performance and retention. Assist with team travel operations equipment management and budgeting. Support the coordination of home meets fundraising efforts and alumni engagement. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes growth accountability and excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years collegiate coaching experience with significant experience in recruiting and coaching jumps and multievents. Demonstrated success in recruiting nationally and internationally across multiple event groups. Proven development of AllAmericans NCAA Regional Qualifiers and school record holders. USATF Level Two Certification (Throws) and Level One Certification preferred. CPR / AED certification (current).
Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing recruiting databases travel planning and athlete development plans. Experience as a Director of Operations or similar administrative leadership within a collegiate athletics program. Passion for mentoring and developing studentathletes in both their athletic and academic journeys.
