Job Description

Utilizes advanced health assessment knowledge and decision making skills works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in agerelated category and area of expertise.

Become a vital part of our collaborative team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians providing exceptional patientcentered care in our growing Neurology Department.   • 1.0 FTE fulltime
  • Monday Friday from 8:00am 5:00pm.
  • Call is inpatient Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm with MD support and collaboration.
  • General Neurology Department with the ability to focus on select patient populations.
  • Patient Population consists of patients with diagnoses of Migraine/Headaches Concussion Epilepsy Dementia Parkinsons Multiple Sclerosis Neuromuscular Disorders Neuropathy
  • Experienced Neurodiagnostic Services provided by our Neurodiagnostic team with the ability to complete EEGs both inpatient and ambulatory and EMGs.
  • Volumes:
    • Inpatient: 24 consults per day with daily followup and rounding
    • Outpatient: 1015 patients per day

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment knowledge and decisionmaking skills while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Position requires a high level of patientcentered skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients coworkers and others.


EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience in Neurology preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • National certification in applicable area.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
