VACANCY: DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS TEACHER LONGTERM SUBSTITUTE

LOCATION: MIDDLESEX MIDDLE SCHOOL

EFFECTIVE: August 21 2025 November 20 2025 (est.)

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Digital Media Explorations The course is designed so students can expand their visual literacy and conceptual thinking through authentic projects rather than learning discrete skills in computer operations. Part of the role is to oversee and monitor use of the computer lab.

REQUIREMENTS:

Hold appropriate Connecticut certification for Grades 6 7 and 8
Have the ability to create integrated projects using technology that is provided
Be highly proficient in the use of the iMac and the OSX operating system
Be proficient with all iLife applications particularly iMovie
Exhibit familiarity with using and maintaining OSX server
Proficient with Google Apps
Responsible for all lab peripheral equipment including the 3D Printer headphones etc.

TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Compensation per Agreement between the Darien Board of Education and Darien Education Association (no benefits)
