You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe primary purpose of the Appeals Specialist position is to provide follow up and administrative support to the UR Appeals in the Department of Patient Accounts. Inputs tracks and trends data interacts with external managed care organizations physicians & case managers to assist with the appeal process. Prepares and monitors logs and produces reports as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Business Finance healthcare field or other related field required plus three (3) years of administrative support experience preferably in a hospital setting required. Experience with report writing and data analysis required. Experience in medical records social work finance or utilization management preferred. Experience with developing and maintaining databases and working with various software applications required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required as well as strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a yearforyear basis.
