SUMMARY:
The Extrusion Operator I works under moderate supervision and is responsible for operating an extruder to meet customer quality requirements while meticulously following process instructions and maintaining accurate records of inspection and material usage. Schedule: 11p7a
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain proficiency in the extrusion machines components and operational functionality through continuous handson experience and training onsite.
- Continuously monitor the extrusion process for any irregularities including checking for issues like blockages fluctuations in temperature or pressure variations.
- Regularly inspect the extruded product to ensure it meets customer specifications and quality standards.
- Properly load raw materials and ensure consistent feeding to maintain a smooth extrusion process.
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a clean organized work area. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that emergency stops and safety devices are functional.
- Keep records of production runs (inclusive of inspection time and material usage) settings and any issues encountered for quality assurance and future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules.
- Change screen packs as required to maintain equipment performance.
- Clean extrusion crosshead to ensure efficient production and product quality.
- Make incremental adjustments to extruder inputs to maintain acceptable product specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year experience as Extrusion Operator.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal written and listening.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Seeks ways to improve and promote quality.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness ensuring attention to detail.
- Adapts well to changes in the work environment and manages competing demands.
- Ability to exercise good judgement.
- Takes responsibility for own actions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required of the job including but not limited to lifting (up to 40lbs) standing and walking for extended periods use of hand and/or power tools climbing stairs/ladder and frequent movement of kneeling to standing.
