Responsibilities
- Reconciling accounts monthly for accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards
- Assisting with the monthend and yearend closing processes
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations
- This role involves preparing and filing state / sales tax returns conducting tax research and providing guidance on taxrelated matters
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the accounting team
- Research and analyze tax issues and provide recommendations to management
- Assisting with external audits and tax filings
- Stay up to date on changes in sales and use tax laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
- CPA certification
- NetSuite experience is a plus
- Experience with projectbased accounting is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
- Experience filing state / sales and use tax returns
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience with Thomas Reuters OneSource tax software or other tax software preferred
