oversees the daytoday workload of the department to provide high quality pharmaceutical services for the hospital patients and employees. This includes supervising and verification of all technicianhandled orders performing
clinical duties calculations as required and communication as needed with
physician and all hospital personnel and patients.
l. Computer order entry and filling of orders including any necessary activities to obtain medications clarify orders and solve any problems related to providing the proper medication to the proper patient as ordered by the physician.

of medication doses/schedules with documentation
on patient medical records to assure proper medication is
provided to the nursing staff for administration to the patient
as ordered by the physician.
and dosing of aminoglycosides and Vancomycin Performing DVT assessments assessing all CHF pneumonia
and renal patients for appropriateness of drugs ADR Med
errors and patients on Glucophage. Review of daily C&S
lab results for antibiotic appropriateness . The pharmacist is also
responsible for nutritional assessments/ recommendations
on patients on TPN therapy when requested by the physician.
The clinical pharmacist will make weekly rounds with a
multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs.

orders i.e. proper dosage route of a::lministration or allergy.

closed. This includes coming back into the hospital for
orders written after hours if the medication is not available
in Omni cells and cannot wait until the pharmacy reopens.

B.S./ PHARM D in Pharmacy
Current Ga. Pharmacist License or eligible for Ga. License.
High level of supervisory skills organizational skills communication skills reliability and attention to detail. Previous hospital training preferred.
Previous pharmacokinetic training required.
Carry less than 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 35 pounds if needed.
Ability to conduct training programs and presentations for hospital patients and employees as needed.
Ability to properly write physicians orders concerning clinically and
pharmacokinetically calculated doses of medication.
Supervises six nonexempt employees.
Daily Phone or In Person contact with Department Heads Business Office Personnel & Other WMH Personnel.
Frequent Phone or In person contact with Physicians Hospital Authority & Patients/Family
Frequent Phone or In person contact with Sales Representatives Local Government/Business Officials & In person Visitors.
The pharmacist is responsible for accuracy of patient orders. Errors could result in patient injury or death or monetary loss to the hospital. The
pharmacist also has access to patient files with highly confidential material. Errors in providing this information could result in monetary loss to the
hospital.
