Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities autism dementia and other care needs. As a Personal Care Assistant you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Duties:
Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing dressing grooming and toileting
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
Monitor and document changes in residents physical and mental wellbeing
Implement behavior management strategies for residents with challenging behaviors
Assist with meal planning preparation and feeding
Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Follow all resident rights policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with individuals with autism developmental disabilities or dementia preferred
Knowledge of first aid and CPR
Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with transfers (up to 300 pounds) based on client assignment
Familiarity with behavior management techniques
Understanding of resident rights and personcentered care principles
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Compassionate patient and empathetic nature
