The AI Team at Amplitude is creating new product experiences powered by intelligent agents but we care just as much about how they show up in the UI as we do about the backend. If youve ever used an AI product and thought Why is this so unhelpful youre in the right place.
This role is for a fullstack engineer who leans frontend has a strong product sense and cares deeply about quality. Youll own experiences endtoend from system design to pixel polish and help define what usable AI feels like.
Youll be part of a small scrappy highcontext team working across the entire LLM stack from prompt design to infra to monitoring to customerfacing UX. We move fast own our work and prioritize quality learning over throwing models at the wall.
Its ambitious but we think this team has the potential to build something that becomes bigger than Amplitudes core business in a short period of time. And we have the support of the company to do that.
What youll do:
- Build fullstack features with heavy frontend and UX ownership
- Craft thoughtful fast responsive UI components that interact with LLMs and agents
- Work closely with backend engineers to build bridges into orchestration and infra
- Pair with PMs and designers to rapidly iterate on new ideas and prototypes
- Help define best practices for AI UX what does great prompting feedback and fallback look like
- Own the enduser experience and obsess over polish
You might be a fit if:
- You have 5 years of fullstack engineering experience
- You care deeply about design usability and building products people love
- You have strong product intuition and proactively identify improvements without being asked
- Youre comfortable moving fast and making smart tradeoffs
- Youve worked in earlystage or zerotoone teams before
- Youre curious about AI and excited to shape how it gets surfaced to users
Bonus if:
- Youve built LLM apps agents or tools before
- Youve been part of a small startup or skunkworks team and thrived in uncertainty
- Youve been a founder or earlystage at a startup

Based on legislation in New York City the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $244000 $368000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in California the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $244000 $368000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in California the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $219000 $330000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in Washington state the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $219000 $330000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in Washington state the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary) medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
