Flowers Early Learning is a highquality preschool located across Berrien Cass and Van Buren County. We are looking for a Bus Monitor serving classrooms in Mattawan Michigan with children ages 35 for next program year (end of July 2025 May 2026). The home base for this location is located at the HSO Administration Building in Paw Paw MI.

Position Summary: The Bus Monitor assures compliance with Head Start policies and procedures Performance Standards Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers. Assists the Driver in providing safe transportation for authorized passengers. Reports to the assigned bus prior to the route rides the bus during the route completes route paperwork assures children are buckled in correctly and safely attends to passenger behavior and assists in ensuring a positive social climate.
Job Type: FullTime Program Year NonExempt/ Hourly
Expected Schedule: MondayFriday 40 hours per week Split Shift starting a 6:45 am10:00 am off from 10:00 am 12:00 pm and continue from 12:00 pm4:45 pm.
Rate of Pay: HS/GED: $15.50 per hour Credential CDLS Endorsement: $15.93 per hour AA: $17.08 per hour AA with CDLS Endorsement $17.84 per hour
Education Requirement: High School Diploma GED equivalent or Head Start parent with 1 year experience working with young children.
Desired CDL with passenger and s endorsement or willing to obtain CDL with passenger and s endorsement within 3 years of hire and reimbursed upon completion.
Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must possess a valid drivers license and their own reliable transportation complete a physical examination comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check and preemployment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC) Cocaine Opiates and Phencyclidine (PCP). Marijuana is not legal at the federal level and is prohibited in the workplace or in ones system even if legally prescribed.
