Job Description

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
Facility: North Memorial Health Robbinsdale Hospital
Address: 3300 Oakdale Ave N Robbinsdale MN 55422 United States
Contract: Permanent
Shift: Varied Days Nights; 8 & 12 Hour Shifts
Salary Range: $35.82/hour $46.19/hour

The Surgical Technologist provides assistance and support to the surgeon and operative team to ensure a safe environment equipment functions properly adheres to surgical concepts and infection control principles for the customer who may include: neonates infants children adolescents adults or older adults. The Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of the registered nurse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the surgeon during operative procedures with other duties within the scope of practice such as holding retractors cutting suture material as directed by the surgeon connecting drains to suction apparatus and applying dressing.
  • Creates a safe customer environment by implementing surgical asepsis sterile technique surgical conscience universal precautions and all customer safety procedures.
  • Cares for instruments and equipment before during and after surgery to ensure proper functioning of the instruments and equipment for future use.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities to ensure exceptional care for surgical services customers and families.
  • Recognizes emergencies and responds promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborates with other health care providers to ensure optimal outcomes for customers.
  • Evaluates ones practice with professional standards of practice and relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Recognizes and complies with legal regulatory accrediting and procedural requirements related to the area of responsibility.
  • Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in Maple Grove Hospitals Code of Conduct.
  • Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team memberrelated information as needed to perform job duties.
  • Reports violations or areas of concern to leader or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.
