Job Description
The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multidisciplinary team of scientists engineers and technicians all working to innovate in quantum computing for the benefit of our customers. The Fabrication team within AWS Center for Quantum computing is responsible for delivering superconducting quantum computing chips and developing process innovations to support that.
We are looking for an experienced fabrication process engineering manager who be a leader in AWSs effort to build and deliver its quantum computing services to customers. You will endtoend oversee fabrication of quantum chips and devices and manage highly skilled process engineering personnel. Through your work inside and outside of the cleanroom on with the fabrication team you will solve problems related to repeatable and high throughput fabrication of quantum processors while continuously integrating new process innovation. Ideal candidate for this role will be innovative handson leader seasoned in running semiconductor wafer manufacturing. The candidate will have excellent problem solving analytical and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include timely delivery of completed high quality wafers and packaged chips resource allocation across multiple production and development tasks regular interactions with stakeholders and anticipation of their needs managing process engineering team training of new personnel and ensuring high quality of their work.
A day in the life
You will manage a team of engineers helping plan and prioritize fabrication programs and tasks. It will require making judgement calls between shortterm delivery and longterm development. You will be spending some of your time doing hands on work in the cleanroom while being in constant communication with scientists engineers stakeholders and management about the work progress.

Fabrication team within AWS Center for Quantum computing is responsible for delivering quantum computing product chips and developing and implementing process innovations.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (IoT) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. BSc in applied physics material science physics electrical engineering or related field
7 years of in semiconductor industry working with semiconductor fabrication tools
2 years management experience in semiconductor manufacturing
MS or PhD in material science physics electrical engineering or related field
10 years of in semiconductor industry working with semiconductor fabrication tools
5 years management experience in semiconductor manufacturing
Experience or knowledge in superconducting microwave devices or superconducting qubits
