Key job responsibilities
Design develop deploy and maintain high impact customer features that delight our customers Keep eeroOS our Linuxbased operating system innovative and running at peak performance Maintain and continuously improve build tools and automation infrastructure.
Embedded development with C/C Rust delivering highquality code for eero Devices.
Develop applications and features in Golang Python C or Rust on eeros operating system which spans across all eero hardware.

Improve engineering processes and tools to accelerate software development velocity and code quality Analyze data collected from beta field testers and production to make decisions to improve our software and user experience.

Work closely with hardware to low level teething issues during bringup and field deployments Work with manufacturing and operations to ensure we can continue to ship high quality products Lead and mentor junior engineers on projects.

A day in the life
The Connectivity team at eero is looking for an experienced engineer to join the Platform Software Development team. The Platform team is responsible for the operating system which powers all eero devices software build infrastructure which is used by teams developing features on the eero devices Smart Home Hub Automation and Tooling.

A SDE on the platform team develops applications and features in Golang and Python on eeros operating system which spans across all eero hardware and is also responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the eeroOS operating system and build infrastructure.


About the team
A SDE on the platform team develops applications and features in Golang and Python on eeros operating system which spans across all eero hardware and is also responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the eeroOS operating system and build infrastructure.

The platform team SDE also serves as part of a core group responsible for handling customer issues across production beta and dog food deployments and works crossfunctionally across Cloud Data and Mobile app teams to resolve issues and deploy new features.

4 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field (In lieu of degree 4 years of relevant work experience).
4 years of systems programming experience on Linux systems
3 years experience writing high quality code in C or C and Go and/or Python

4 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Experience with network stack/socket programming protocol development or any previous middleware development
4 years maintaining and improving build infrastructure such as Yocto OpenWRT
2 years experience with Linux kernel and Linux device drivers
1 years of experience with Jenkins and CI infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
Experience designing software architectures for scalability reliability and performance

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
