Loan Officer-Pocatello

Role: To assist members with their consumer lending needs; analyze loan requests and make credit decisions based on lending policy

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Interviews member loan applicants to develop information concerning their loan needs earnings and financial condition.
• Analyzes current financial position of members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
• Makes decision to approve disapprove or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
• Explains loan programs to members evaluates their needs and recommends loan options.
• Establishes the terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews them with the member.
• Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Authorize changes in loan terms waivers of payments due date change etc. on existing loans.
• Participates in sales development activities.
• Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections.
• Keeps informed of current trends in consumer credit.

Experience: Two years or more of similar or related experience including loan documentation underwriting policies and compliance. Proven to handle multiple loans and meet closing dates.

Education: High school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of firstlevel conflict resolution building relationships and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills: Possess good listening and people skills. Ability to analyze a members financial situation. Tenkey/Calculator and keyboard proficient

Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone copier facsimile and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 68 hours per day when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger) commercial airlines rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular reliable and timely attendance.

Schedule: Monday Friday / 8:30am 5:30pm

Pay: $19.00$26.00 per hour/DOE Connections Credit Union also offers monthly annual incentives if eligible.
