Description:
The Summer School Elementary Specialist will provide support to Kindergarten4th grade students during the summer program at Gardiner Middle School. Responsibilities include building quick relationships with students utilizing districtapproved curriculum and resources to accelerate student learning collaborating on enrichment activities supporting student supervision and attendance and communicating with families. The Specialist will contribute to a safe and equitable learning environment and participate in professional development planning and room set up the week of June 23rd.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Build relationships with students and establish a safe and positive classroom environment
Support teachers to provide clear and effective grade level instruction differentiating for student learning needs specifically students experiencing disabilities and/or students who are emerging bilinguals
Monitor student learning and conduct summer school assessments as outlined
Support students and staff by utilizing resources to meet learner needs
Work with small groups or individual students
Collaborate to create and implement handson interactive enrichment activities
Maintain student attendance records
Communicate with families and staff
Qualifications
Three years of teaching experience preferred
Oregon Certified Teacher License
Special Education licensure preferred but not required
English Learner endorsement preferred but not required
Multilingual applicants preferred but not required
Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
Understanding of instructional best practices
Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all students

Professional development and room set up week of June 23rd
Summer school calendar June 30th August 7th (summer school hours Monday Thursday 7:30am3:30pm)
Classroom clean up August 8th
Four (4) positions are available.
Rate of pay: $250.00 per day
