The Position
There is an additional 3.35% Management Differential which is added to the posted salary for this class.
Note: Must Currently Hold Permanent Employment Status with Sacramento County.The final filing date for this exam has been revised. Please note the new final filing date is: 5:00 pm on: 6/6/25Supervising Civil Attorney plans directs and supervises the activities and personnel of an organizational unit handling civil legal matters for the County and other public agencies and directly performs legal services as assigned; or performs legal representation duties involving the most complex sensitive and highly specialized legal services and litigation.Examples of Knowledge and Abilities

- Demonstrated expertise in legal research writing analysis case preparation trial conduct and related areas
- Organization management and supervision of staff and activities in one or more civil law specializations
- Effective legal representation in the most complex sensitive and responsible legal projects
- Establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of staff members public officials and the general public
Employment Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in the practice of civil law in a public agency in California including one year or more as an Attorney Civil Level III or higher in the Sacramento County Counsels Office.
Note:If theword experience is referenced in the minimum qualifications it means fulltime paid experience unless the minimum qualifications states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Parttime paid experience may be accumulated and prorated to meet the total experience requirements.
Probationary Period

FORMULA RATE EXAMINATION (Weighted 100%)
All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications by the cutoff date will have their Supplemental Questionnaire scored in the Formula Rate Examination.
This examination will evaluate the relevance level recency progression and quality of candidates education training and experience. The candidates application or other materials will not be included in this examination. Therefore the candidates responses to the supplemental questionnaire should be thorough detailed and complete. The score from the Formula Rate Examination will determine the ranking on the eligible/employment list for this job.
All candidates competing in the testing process will receive written notice of their examination results by email. Notices can also be accessed in their inbox. Applicants achieving a passing score will be placed on the eligible list in rank order. The rank is determined by the test score attained from the examination.
