Bacteriology Research Scientist
***This position requires an active Secretclearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered. ***
As required by our governmental client this position requires being a U.S. citizen.
As a Bacteriology Research Scientist you will conduct and assist in both basic and applied research focused on specified bacterial threats. This role is crucial for advancing our understanding and development of medical countermeasures against significant infectious diseases such as plague tularemia melioidosis glanders anthrax and Qfever.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay commensurate with experience. Pay range $80k $85k
- Fulltime benefits include Medical Dental Vision 401K and other possible benefits as provided.

Bacteriology Research Scientist Responsibilities Include:
- Plan manage and execute complex in vitro and in vivo studies under BSL2 and BSL3 conditions using advanced techniques like organoids and organonachip systems.
- Perform animal manipulations including observations injections blood draws and euthanasia under various biosafety levels.
- Analyze clinical readouts from studies including radiographs clinical chemistry and hematology of laboratory animals.
- Draft animal protocols study protocols technical reports and peerreviewed manuscripts.
- Maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and ensure accurate documentation and quality review of raw data.
- Manage laboratory maintenance safety compliance and assist in routine laboratory upkeep.
- Maintain accountability and uptodate records of Biological Select Agents and Toxins (BSAT) and Investigational New Drugs (INDs) applications.
- Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Bacteriology Research ScientistQualifications:
- Ph.D. or D.V.M. with at least two years of relevant research experience or a Masters degree with seven years of relevant research experience in bacteriology animal physiology or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in designing executing and analyzing complex scientific studies especially under regulatory frameworks such as the FDAAnimal Rule.
- Preferred experience in highcontainment facilities (BSL3 and ABSL3).
- Must pass the preemployment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
- Must be able to attain Biosurety Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP) and Controlled Substances Personnel Reliability Program (CSPRP) status.
- Must hold a secret clearance or have a background that will allow obtaining a secret clearance.
Bacteriology Research ScientistSkills:
- Proficient in bacterial assays animal procedures and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highpressure environment.
