POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Executive Director of Elementary Teaching & Learning serves as a key district leader in advancing instructional excellence professional development and student achievement through a robust multitiered system of support for student learning. This position works collaboratively with district and school administrators teachers and staff to support highquality instruction curriculum alignment and professional growth opportunities across all grade levels (P12). Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning the Assistant Executive Director provides visionary leadership to enhance teaching and learning while ensuring alignment with district mission vision values and goals state standards and best practices. This position requires a high level of leadership initiative and dedication to ensuring the success of all students through effective teaching and learning practices across the P12 spectrum.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a senior leader in the district collaborating with the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and the District Leadership Team to advance strategic goals and initiatives specifically including the practice of districtwide Professional Learning Communities with strategic integration of state and federal categorical resources.
- Ensure efficient equitable datadriven and transparent allocation of the districts financial resources.
- Provide leadership for the adoption of prioritized learning standards and the adoption of curriculum resources to support the standards.
- Facilitate planning for and accurate administration of the Districts Title 1 A funds.
- Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator for all elementary schools.
- Provide leadership for the districts elementary highly capable programming.
- Provide leadership for the indistrict student transfer process for all elementary schools.
- Ensure a system of standards based instruction and assessment throughout the district.
- Support the continuous development of leadership skills in administrators across the district.
- Assist in leading the districts P12 instructional programs ensuring curriculum standards coherence researchbased pedagogical practices and continuous improvement in student learning outcomes.
- Oversee professional development initiatives aligned with the districts strategic plan designing and implementing training programs that support teachers and administrators in effective instructional strategies assessment practices and leadership development.
- Support supervise and mentor principals and instructional leaders to foster a culture of continuous improvement high expectations and instructional excellence.
- Guide and support the implementation of inclusionary practices for all students ensuring equitable access to highquality instruction and resources through a multitiered system of academic support and intervention.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to oversee the induction mentoring and professional growth of new and experienced certificated staff.
- Collaborate with the technology department to stay abreast of developing educational technologies and opportunities.
- Provide leadership for the districts evaluation processes supporting administrators in implementing the districts evaluation frameworks; utilize the frameworks as supportive tools to improve professional practices across the district.
- Routinely monitor student achievement data and use datadriven decisionmaking to develop and implement instructional strategies measure program effectiveness and enhance student achievement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including instructional staff principals district leaders community members and educational partners.
- Represent the district in state and regional education initiatives staying abreast of emerging trends and policies that impact teaching and learning.
- Routinely collaborate with the Assistant Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning to provide a continuum of services for students P12.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership Curriculum & Instruction or a related field.
- Washington State Administrator Certification.
- Minimum of three years of successful school or school district administrative leadership experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional leadership curriculum development and professional learning.
- Strong knowledge of P12 education policies best practices and state/national education standards including state and federal categoriFcal programs.
- Exceptional skills in collaboration communication and problemsolving.
- Ability to independently lead and mentor staff foster innovation and drive systemic improvements in teaching and learning.
- Ability to independently administer district level decisions and plans in support of the districts strategic plan.
- Experience in development maintenance implementation and communication of school district policies and procedures.
- Experience in supervising and evaluating certificated personnel.
- Experience and ability to analyze and interpret data for the purpose of strengthening P12 programming that leads to improved student outcomes.
- Technological proficiency and ability to leverage digital tools for instruction assessment and data analysis.
