The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a machinist grinder to join our team on nights. The CNC machinist will be responsible for the setup and operation of manual and CNC OD ID and surface grinders. The machinist will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs when appropriate.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Setup and operation of miscellaneous CNC OD ID and Surface grinder and/or manual machines.
2. Grind and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
4. Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
5. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
6. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
7. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated (TPMs).
8. Adheres to safety rules manufacturing / quality procedures and company policies. Maintaining a clean and organized 6s work area.
9. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell.
10. Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting new and different requests while exploring opportunities to add value to the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 13 years experience in one or more of the following:
• CNC Lathes
• CNC Grinding
• Manual Machining

• Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers calipers gauges (pin thread indicator height) optical comparators etc.
• Must be able to read and follow blueprints and manufacturing plannings
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time and work in a team environment
• Ability to work afternoons 9:30 AM 11 PM (training on 1st)
  • Additional hourly premium for working 3rd shift
• Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches) capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).

• Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed.
