Job Description

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology Chemistry Biology or Lab.

Required Certification:

Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the ASCP Certified MLT or equivalent agency Preferred.

Summary: Responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory.Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory. Performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes under the supervision of a medical technologist or section leader.Enters all results into the computer system.Maintains laboratory inventory.Collects and processes specimens in blood bank chemistry hematology microbiology serology/immunology phlebotomy drug screen collections.
