Job Description
Overview
Responsibilities
Cleans and decontaminates instruments and equipment according to department policies and manufacturers recommendations while using standard precautions procedures to ensure safety.
Uses standard precautions in handling contaminated items or instruments and applies hazardous waste policies as needed.
Inspects and assembles instruments to ensure patient safety and in accordance with sterilization requirements.
Removes instruments found to be defective broken or missing components.
Helps report any positive results or sterilization malfunctions to appropriate leadership in a timely manner to ensure a proper resolution.
Returns and restocks all unused sterile instruments to their appropriate location to facilitate future usage.
Performs other duties as assigned.
