Physiatrist Medical Director
Location: Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health Sparrow
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off schedule (Fulltime)

Mary Free Bed Medical Group has been retained by Sparrow Health to recruit a fulltime experienced dynamic individual with strong leadership skills to provide Physiatry & Medical Director Services for Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health located in Lansing.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provide patient care treatment and services within the scope of license certification or registration and as required by Federal and State laws and regulations.
Provides professional medical services in the specialty of physiatry to patients of Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health Sparrow in the inpatient unit.
Maintains medical records in a timely fashion and cooperates with billing peer review and compliance programs
Provides oversight and education for students residents and any midlevel providers
Maintains staff privileges at Sparrow Heath and mutually agreed upon other hospitals including the duties required to maintain those privileges such as medical record completion committee service compliance citizenship etc.
Identifies and promotes opportunities for improvement of care and actively participates in Sparrow Health quality initiatives
Monitors developments in specialty field and promotes new programs that meet new program criteria
Provides medical leadership to treatment team treating assigned patients and promotes harmonious and effective team functioning
Models professional behavior
Enhances knowledge and understanding of capabilities and services among medical professionals and patient populations through regular participation in professional education sessions with network partners discharge planning conferences at regional acute care hospitals participation in ICU and other Rehab teams at network and regional acute care hospitals and similar activities community outreach and programming opportunities presented or promoted by the Hospital.
Promotes the financial viability of Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health Sparrow.
Promotes the development and dissemination of new knowledge preferably in peer reviewed journals
For the past 9 years Mary Free Bed at University of Michigan Health Sparrow has grown and maintained an excellent reputation in the Lansing region serving the population with a 40bed rehabilitation unit on the sixth floor of the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

Opportunity to work alongside an experienced Advanced Practice Provider in a busy 45000 square foot adult rehabilitation unit overseeing 40beds on the sixth floor of the Sparrow Hospital.
The Physiatrist provide inpatient and consult services. Call and weekend coverage and Daily IP census is 35.
Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree
Board Certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
State of Michigan Medical License
