SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT: Food Service Department
TYPE: Classified STATUS: NonExempt SALARY: ($16.24 full health benefits package) WORK CALENDAR: 191 DAYS 8 Hours Per Day Start: July 2025
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
DEFINITION: Under general supervision assist in the administration of the Food Service Department by maintaining a fiscally sound financial system by which revenue is received and expenses are properly recorded and maintaining accurate records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Perform office duties i.e. filing answering phones. Upon request from groups arranges catering events including ordering pick up setup and invoicing. Assist the director with management of personnel as needed. As well as fill in as a food service substitute if needed. Assist with conducting site reviews as prescribed by USDA and ADE to maintain compliance with all meal programs and perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of District and school policies and procedures.
Knowledge of reception and telephone etiquette and techniques.
Knowledge of administrative support and recordkeeping techniques.
Knowledge of standard office practices principles and methods.
Knowledge of the proper use of industrial cooking and baking equipment.
Knowledge of nutrition standards and guidelines.
Knowledge of proper food handling techniques.
Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
Skill in the use of a personal computer and related software.
Skill in English composition grammar spelling and punctuation.
Skill in verbal and written communication.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill in safe use of equipment used in a large kitchen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in an indoor requires frequent standing walking sitting bending and lifting up to 50 be exposed to hot ovens dangerous equipment cleaning solutions and chemicals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED. Three (3) years administrative support experience preferred. Experience working in a school setting is preferred. Candidates must possess a food handler certification provide proof of a valid drivers license upon hire and maintain an active license throughout employment. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by
