The Highlands School is an independent Catholic college prep school servicing families from all over the Dallas Metroplex. We are looking to expand our team of Christ centered educators in the following discipline(s):
Qualifications
The Physical Education Teacher should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in physical education preferred
- Minimum of one year teaching experience
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Skill for transmitting knowledge and to stimulate a desire to learn in students.
- Excellent social qualities
- Firm and kind character
- Capacity for managing groups.
Responsibilities
- Ability to design fun inclusive and engaging lessons that promote movement and wellness.
- Design and implement a comprehensive physical education program tailored to elementary students.
- Plan daily activities that promote gross motor skills spatial awareness coordination and fitness.
- Foster a love for movement through ageappropriate games rhythmic activities basic sports skills and imaginative play.
- Teach students how to cooperate share and play safely with others.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align physical education with classroom themes and development goals.
- Assess student growth and provide feedback to families and school leadership as appropriate
- Assess student progress towards learning targets objectives expectations and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and administration
- Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
- Maintain equipment ensure safe usage and model appropriate physical behavior
- Participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and to improve student achievement
Reporting Structure
The physical education teacher will report directly to the Lower and Middle School Principal.
