What you will do:
As a Tax Specialist in our Filing Enforcement area you will ensure compliance with South Carolina and federal tax laws by analyzing and adjusting Income Tax returns in a fair consistent and accurate manner.

Primary job duties include:
Reviewing and auditing tax returns and making any adjustments needed to ensure taxpayer compliance with federal and state tax laws.
Communicating with taxpayers to explain return adjustments.
Staying uptodate on tax law changes and on knowledge of our internal tax systems.
Making recommendations to improve existing processes.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Either:
1.A bachelors degree with multiple accounting courses (Transcripts required. Attach to application or email to
.) OR
2.A bachelors degree and one year of experience in accounting auditing finance insurance or tax preparation and/or analysis. OR
associates degree and three years of experience in accounting auditing finance insurance or tax preparation and/or analysis. OR
experience or education may be substituted on a yearforyear basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)

Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Preferred Qualifications

Twelve semester hours in accounting audit or other businessrelated subjects
Basic knowledge of SC tax laws and forms and online computer systems

Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:30 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Monday Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
