Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Gas Pipeline Scheduler will gather maintain coordinate and balance volumes of gas to be transported through unregulated onsystem pipelines and facilities. This position will be directly responsible for and balancing all transportation volume activities for assigned ONEOK controlled facilities. The Gas Pipeline Scheduler will also be directly responsible for the daily verification and monitoring of scheduled volumes and imbalances for assigned systems.

An ideal candidate would have a high attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Duties include:

Develop an extensive working knowledge of Company owned pipeline systems in order to understand opportunities for transportation efficiencies
Handle all aspects of Nominations on companys Electronic Bulletin Board (EBB)
Ensure that all daily and monthly gas nomination procedures including third party EBBs are complied with and all nominations and confirmations are handled in timely order
Keep EBB vendor advised of any issues with EBB
Monitor and report daily receipts and deliveries at interconnects for imbalance positions. Provide recommendations to eliminate imbalance positions and minimize forward exposure
Work closely with Transportation Manager to ensure all contracts and deals are correctly structured to support our operations
Enter all relevant data associated with transactions into the transaction management system volumetrically balance the systems as required and manage the volume flow through the system ensuring all arrangements and nominations are properly reflected
Maintain close communication with accounting in order to ensure accurate and timely accounting documents are created and delivered to appropriate counterparty
After hours and weekend rotation coverage is required

Job Profile Summary


Performs advanced level of work related to nomination confirmation and scheduling activities for local distribution companies (LDC) intrastate and gathering pipelines or natural gas liquids (NGL) distribution.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Initiate schedule review and monitor daily nominations to maintain pipeline integrity by minimizing Operational Balance Agreement (OBA) and shipper or customer imbalances

  • Coordinate with traders regarding overall daily scheduling and balancing positions on interstate and intrastate pipelines; report any problems to traders regarding flow of gas or NGL

  • Interact with gas control representatives customers operators producers pipeline companies and others concerning nominations allocations billing imbalances daily flow and operational orders

  • Calculate prepare and analyze information or reports including but not limited to:

    • Allocations

    • Balancing deliveries

    • Nominations and confirmations

    • Pricing

    • Flow rates/capacity issues

    • Measurement discrepancies

    • Storage balances

    • Electronic bulletin board communications

    • Actual Usage Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM)

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering business administration or accounting with job related experience or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as accounting business law business communications algebra basic statistics or speech and the following job related knowledge or experience

Work Experience

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of nomination and scheduling of gas or NGL volumes on a pipeline system

  • Experience analyzing and resolving issues and/or questions concerning scheduling nominations balancing and allocations

  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including mainframe applications and microcomputers and applicable software

  • Experience and/or training related to:

    • Gas purchase

    • Gas control

    • Gas accounting

    • Transportation services

    • Volume control

    • Customer service

    • Pipeline Tariffs

    • NGL Distribution (as specified by position)

  • Experience reading and interpreting applicable contracts agreements reports statements invoices confirmations correspondence tariffs government regulations industry standards electronic bulletin board communications and company policies and procedures

  • Experience composing and preparing balancing reports volume summaries confirmations reports pipeline postings storage reports and electronic bulletin board communications

  • Experience analyzing information conducting meetings and making presentations

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to: apply basic math algebra and statistics

  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information or instructions
