Job Description:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to move your career path forward UPS Corporate Environmental Affairs is seeking a passionate resultsdriven Corporate Environmental Coordinator to join our team. TheCorporate Environmental AffairsCoordinator will perform onsite facility inspections develop corrective action plans conduct training oversee regulatory permitting and special projects involving the advancement of compliance programs at UPS.
The coordinator will support all UPS Business Units including Small Package Supply Chain Solutions and Airlines. Maintain uptodate knowledge of environmental regulations and UPS facility safety compliance programs and evaluate trend analysis for overall compliance
The candidate will perform training and auditing cycles for district facilities to support the environmental and facility safety compliance at the district level (e.g. reviews applicable facility regulations conducts environmental and facility safety audits performs trend analysis for compliance activities etc.)
Oversees performance of onsite facility inspections to maintain compliance with UPS federal state and local requirements (e.g. Storm Water Waste Water Air Fuel Storage Systems and Hazardous Waste Disposal) to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
Determines and conveys the processes required to correct violations from state and local regulatory authorities to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal compliance guidelines/policies
Responds to environmental emergencies (e.g. auto accidents hazardous chemical spills in the hubs etc.) to coordinate effective and timely cleanups. Investigates spill responses during incidents to ensure UPS responds effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintains and executes trending analysis for overall effectiveness of compliance programs
Supervises contractors and vendors to maintain environmental deliverables and compliance
Conducts field investigations and prepares reports outlining issues
Works with Corporate Environmental Affairs Managers to ensure work meets compliance needs applicable programs and environmental & facility safety standards
Determines district training needs to produce an effective overall environmental and facility safety compliance
Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word etc.)
Skilled at creating schedules and forecasts based on research analysis and qualitative information within specified parameters
Identifies problems or inefficiencies with current building compliance programs and recommends new and approaches/corrective action plans
Existing environmental and facility safety knowledge in accordance with federal state and local regulations
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences Preferred
Experience identifying internal customer needs Preferred
Experience with vendor management to meet business needs Preferred
Experience in communicating technical concepts to nontechnical audiences; comfortable with public speaking Required
Willing to travel 50% 75% of the time Required
Internal Salary Grade: 20E
