Join the GE Appliances team in a highenergy production facility environment. This is an essential manufacturing maintenance position supporting our appliance operations. The position will work under the general supervision of the Maintenance Leader who assigns work sets priorities and provides overall direction and guidance. This role will provide assistance and work with other skilled maintenance personnel to provide preventive maintenance and ensure equipment reliability & uptime in support of safety quality delivery and meeting cost objectives.Assist skilled maintenance personnel in the repair refurbishment and installation of production equipment as well as other job assignments.
Successful completion of course work as outlined in the AL FAME program.
During training the candidate will develop the ability to perform multicraft skills while working in a maintenance / facilities environment.
Must be a demonstrated team player who demonstrates the initiative ability and willingness to learn during the development of the required skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation including but not limited to:
Constantly wearing personal protective equipment
Must pass annual medical examination / clearance including pulmonary function test for respirator usage
Frequent standingand walking with occasional sitting
Frequentlylifting/carryingvarious parts up to 50 lbs.
Occasional pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs.
Frequentgraspingsqueezing pinching and fine motor dexterity with both hands
Frequent reaching overheadat shoulder level below the waist and at floor level
Frequent bending stoopingtwisting and pivoting
Frequent ladder and stairclimbing
Frequent squatting and kneeling
Frequent necktwistingrotation and extension
Must be able to accessrequiredareas pertainingto job including but not limited to foam rooms chemicals high noise and other areas of the plant
Must be able to work in a loud/noisy environment
Must be able to work at heights and outside in all weather conditions
REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled in an accredited program (minimum of 2 years) in a machinist electrical or related technical field of study and must maintain enrollment in FAME program to continue employment.
Must have a desire to work in a manufacturing environment troubleshooting installing and maintaining equipment.
Must complete the FAME program in a customary time frame.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Minimum 18 years of age or older.
Dependable; demonstrate and maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Must be able to obtain a fork truck license.
Any welding background or desire to become a certified welder will be considered.
