Job Description
BLUE RIDGE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Position Title:Certified Nurse Assistant/Classroom Aide
FLSA: NonExempt Hourly FullTime $20.00 per hour
Reports to: Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate
- CPR and First Aide certification
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by AZ DPS
- Para Pro Certificate (can be obtained through our school)
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work with sutdents with diverse needs in a compassionate and patient manner
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Ability to learn methods and procedures to effectively help children with their
- learning.
- Basic knowledge of computer programs for documentation and reporting
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students staff and
- parents.
JOB GOAL:
To assist the teachers in providing a wellorganized and effective
classroom environment where students may take full advantage of the instructional
program.
Work Environment:
- The CNA/Classroom Aide will work primarily in the classroom special education resource rooms and occasionally in the schools health office.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions in the school setting following district health and safety protocols.
PERFORMANCE RESONSIBILITIES:
- Support students needs by implementing positive behavior strategies
- Medications schedules watching for signs of seizures and proper use of medical equipment.
- Safety of Medically fragile children.
- May come in contact with bodily fluids while caring for students.
- Diapering feeding potty training hygiene.
- Full time supervision of students.
- Communication and cooperation with teachers and parents
- Paperwork/documentation as requested by teachers.
- Escorting students to and from the buses.
- Other duties as assigned.
