Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregons most vulnerable children and families. As a Recovery Support Team Lead you will:
Collaborate with Tribes Native communities community partners caseworkers and providers to remove barriers for parents needing treatment and recovery resources.
Process referrals engage with parents offer recovery services and attend court hearings as needed.
Use motivational techniques to support parents with substance use disorders.
Create communication processes and support systems for parents after treatment to promote family wellbeing.
Ensure culturally appropriate services are provided and offered based on each familys diverse needs.
Provide trainings on substance use disorders and their impact on child safety and families.
Identify resources and trends to support families in the child welfare system and promote recovery.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree in social work human services or related field AND One year experience with responsibility for child welfare case management (i.e. managing a caseload that involved case planning placement decisions child protection issues or treatment interventions); OR
A bachelors degree in any field AND Two years of experience managing a child welfare caseload that involved case planning placement decisions child protection issues or treatment interventions; OR
An associate degree in any field; AND Three years of experience managing a child welfare caseload that involved case planning placement decisions child protection issues or treatment interventions.
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience engaging and collaborating with Tribal communities community partners providers and other organizations.
Experience collaborating with others exchanging ideas and resources and working together to achieve successful outcomes.
Knowledge of substance use disorders and their impacts.
Understanding of the Oregon Safety Model.
Experience conducting research to develop and present trainings.
Experience with conflict resolution including to navigating difficult conversations with honesty transparency and empathy.

Working Conditions
Employees work schedule will be Monday Friday from 8 am 5 pm PT; hours may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional compensated overtime may be required including evening and weekend work.
Occasional travel is required for meetings trainings and conduct case related activities.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
In this role you will handle sensitive issues related to trauma abuse substance use and crises.
You will interact with a diverse range of individuals including those who have experienced trauma and may struggle with emotional regulation.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprintbased criminal records check.
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
