Job Description
- POSITION SUMMARY
- The Nurse Educator provides clinical staff development expertise as an educator consultant facilitator change agent leader and researcher. Each supports the development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidencedbased nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment development planning implementation and evaluation of competency assessment continuing education and leadership development. In addition as a role model of professional behavior the Nurse Educator is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within Trinity Health System to meet the needs of the diverse units within the Trinity Hospital and the global needs of Trinity Health. Must be able to withstand physical activity which includes the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds. Travel may be required to facilitate collaboration with entities across the care system.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses and Certifications Required
- Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN license.
- BLS and ACLS required within orientation period. Other certifications as required by the specific unit the Nurse Educator serves. For example a NICU Nurse educator would be required to have NRP etc.
- BLS ACLS Instructor level certification is preferred.
- Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN license.
- Educational Requirements
- RN by licensure required; BSN and/or Masters preferred.
- NonBSN applicants: Completion of BSN program required within first 3 years of holding the position.
- Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.
- RN by licensure required; BSN and/or Masters preferred.
- Experience Requirements
- The position requires 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in a healthrelated field or as a Nurse Educator or Instructor and a minimum of oneyear experience in the areas he/she is applying for.
- A Masters Degree in Nursing may be substituted for 2 years of required experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Audiovisual equipment set up an advantage.
- The position requires 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in a healthrelated field or as a Nurse Educator or Instructor and a minimum of oneyear experience in the areas he/she is applying for.
