Westfield Public Schools seeks qualified applicants for the following position: Maintenance CraftspersonRole OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and detailoriented Maintenance Craftsperson to join our team at Westfield Public Schools. In this role you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across our facilities ensuring that our environments remain safe functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your expertise will be critical in addressing a range of issues including carpentry repairs painting and general upkeep. ResponsibilitiesConduct regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactivelyPerform repairs and carpentry tasks ensuring compliance with safety regulationsRespond promptly to maintenance requests diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutionsMaintain inventory of tools materials and supplies needed for repairs and maintenanceCollaborate with other staff members to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasksDocument all maintenance activities and report on the status of ongoing projects and repairsPerform any other appropriate duties assigned by the supervisor or his/her designeeQualificationsProven experience as a Maintenance Craftsperson or in a similar role with a strong portfolio of completed projectsKnowledge of repairing concrete and cement work hanging doors door closer issues locks sets windows air conditioner installs into existing windows building safe spaces flooring and carpentry skillsAbility to safely use of a variety of tools including drills saws and other hand tools Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in construction and maintenanceStrong work ethic and reliability in completing tasks on timeExcellent problemsolving skills and a keen attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentPositive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniquesExcellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with the school and local communityBasic office software email and communication skillsREPORTS TO: Director of Operations and SafetyTwelvemonth year with noncontract benefits.
