Company Introduction:G&C Food Distributors is a leading redistributor of refrigerated frozen and dry food. We store and deliver more than 4000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally.
In recent years G&C Foods has grown to be one of the most respected redistributors in the United States and we are rapidly expanding all areas of our organization. As part of this growth we are looking to add a Loader to our Shipping Team to support our continued success.
Location: Syracuse NY
Schedule:Monday through Friday with a 4:30 am start time
Job Summary:
As for our Utility Export you will be responsible for preparing distributing and maintaining all export duties of the organization and seeing that the commodities meet the standards of all the destination countries. The Warehouse Utility Export will also be responsible for operating an electric pallet jack and/or forklift to select the correct products using G&C order selection scanner technology palletizing products to build customer orders and delivering the product to the dock safely and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparing shipments documentation and record keeping according to USDA international regulations
- Collect data from products for country requirements for various regions
- Hand select orders for customers within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures including dry cooler and freezer
- Accurately labeling products with various forms of labeling specific to the region being shipped to (Spanish interpretation labels and USDA labels)
- Coordinate the inspections needed with the USDA inspector
- Assuring product integrity from start to finish stacking product on pallets or in containers as needed following proper selecting procedures (for example no stacking heavyonlight labels facing out etc.)
- Staging and loading containers on proper dock locations and assuring loads are secure for travel
- Assist in other department areas as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
Experience and Education Required:
- 1 year of order selection and warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry or related industry (23 years preferred)
