Job Description

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Executive Director of the Institute of Moravian World Heritage & History

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A

POSITION SUMMARY: The Graduate Assistant will provide basic administrative and outreach support for the Institute of Moravian World Heritage & History. This includes assisting with event preparation scheduling document organization and communications related to the Institutes mission and activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Administrative Support

  • Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing basic materials.
  • Draft proofread and organize documents as directed by supervisors.
  • Support email communication by drafting responses or organizing correspondence.
  • Complete data entry and filing tasks.

Event and Project Assistance

  • Help prepare logistics for Institute events and meetings (e.g. reserving spaces setting up materials).
  • Assist with promoting events through flyers email campaigns and social media posts.
  • Attend events and help with onsite setup and registration as needed.

Community and Campus Outreach

  • Support the communication of the Institutes goals and events to campus and local partners.
  • Help maintain a contact list and manage outreach materials.

Other Duties

  • Provide general support to Institute initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in regular checkins with supervisors to review progress and receive feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Moravian University (except for those excluded by policy).
  • Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspaces
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a small team.
  • Interest in history cultural heritage or community engagement is a plus.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and enrolled in 26 courses per academic year.
