Structural Graduate Engineer - Roanoke VA
Westwood Professional Services Inc.
Westwood Professional Services Inc. is seeking aStructural Graduate Engineer to join our team in our Roanoke VA office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design of building systems structural elements and connections under the supervision of a professional engineer by performing engineering calculations/analyse
- Design structures of a variety of materials including steel concrete wood and masonry.
- Analyze existing structures for new uses and design repairs/reinforcement where required for existing conditions.
- Coordinate with other disciplines including architectural mechanical and civil regarding the projects design.
- Provide construction administration assistance in responses to
- Perform site visits inpsections and review of shop drawings
- Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings
Required Skills
- Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles
- Ability to apply structural engineering principles to design of various elements
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel etc.) a must
Required Experience
- EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred
- Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET accredited college
Preferred Experience
- Masters degree in structural engineering
