Mimecast is looking to hire aPublic Sector Account person will be dedicated to driving growth in named opportunities within state local and educational institutions (excluding Federal). This includes organizations such as universities colleges K12 school districts hospitals municipalities and more. The ideal candidate will be located within the defined territory with a strong understanding of the local market.

What Youll Do

  • Identify and Pursue Sales Opportunities: Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure new sales opportunities within assigned accounts expanding into new state purchasing contracts and vehicles.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently deliver on monthly quarterly and annual new business and upsell goals by executing effective sales activity plans.
  • Collaborate with Partners: Partner with the Channel Development team to create and execute account plans that align with business objectives and drive customer success.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong longterm relationships with new business prospects positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Execute Sales Methodologies: Follow a structured endtoend sales methodology and process to ensure consistent success in closing deals.
  • Pipeline Management: Regularly add qualified opportunities to the pipeline and oversee pipeline movement to ensure forecasting accuracy.
  • Leverage CRM Tools: Maintain CRM discipline by generating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports ensuring data accuracy and contributing to overall business administration.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with other company functions including Market Development and Marketing to contribute to organizational growth and success.
  • Stay Informed and Agile: Attend training sessions stay current on industry trends and continuously develop relevant knowledge and skills in a fastpaced and dynamic sales environment.

What Youll Bring

  • Sales Experience: Proven track record of exceeding new business sales targets in large accounts. Experience in IT sales ideally within Email Messaging Security or Storage solutions (not essential). Familiarity with SLED (State Local and Education) or Public Sector sales is highly desirable.
  • Educational Background: Degreelevel education preferred but not required.
  • Public Sector Expertise: Understanding of Public Sector contracts buying cycles and procurement processes.
  • Sales Role Versatility: Experience in both Direct and Indirect sales roles is highly desirable.
  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial awareness and ability to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • TeamOriented Mindset: A collaborative team player who thrives in a crossfunctional environment.

The US base salary range for this position is $104000$156000 base benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus incentive plans and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
