POSITION OVERVIEW

Ascend is currently searching for a Buyer to be located in our downtown Houston office. As a member of the Procurement organization the Buyer will be responsible for executing the daytoday procurement activities that support Ascends Corporate Services category. This role will focus on managing the sourcing process issuing purchase orders resolving supplier issues and ensuring timely and costeffective delivery of services across departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the procurement process for Corporate Services including issuing RFQs comparing supplier quotes and processing purchase orders.
• Manage supplier communications related to order confirmations delivery updates and issue resolution.
• Track and follow up on open orders deliveries and contract renewals to ensure timelines are met.
• Maintain accurate procurement records contracts and supplier contact details in the ERP system.
• Assist with contract reviews and support the preparation of standard procurement documents.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate recurring issues to management.
• Collaborate with departments such as HR Finance IT and Operations to gather specifications and fulfill purchasing requests.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• BS/BA degree in Business Supply Chain or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in tactical procurement or purchasing support roles.
• Familiarity with contract terms purchase order systems and supplier coordination.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
