Job Summary
Under directive supervision in accordance with the Station Operating License Technical Specifications and operating procedures performs radiological testing on site and surrounding areas housekeeping performs functions involved with decontamination of equipment; and performs duties such as listed in the Job Description.Job Description
1. Collecting gas liquid and solid materials in all parts of the Station and surrounding areas; analyzing samples for radioactivity level; designated areas with respect to proper posting;
2. Performing routine and complex radiological surveys and job coverage of routine radiological work with employees of higher classification;
3. Coordinating/directing decontamination and cleanup projects;
4. Assisting in the preparation of Radiation Protection procedure and instructions;
5. Participating in the Emergency Plan Response Organization as prescribed;
6. Working with employees in higher classification and performing other duties in accordance with the Job Manual;
7. Performing similar or less skilled duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Must have two (2) years Radiation Protection experience OR an Associate or
Bachelor degree with six months related experience.
2. Must have demonstrated ability in the performance of the duties of Assistant Radiation Protection Tech or equivalent experience.
3. Must qualify to wear respiratory equipment.
4. Must have thorough working knowledge of safety rules and regulations decontamination techniques safeguarding personnel and equipment from radiation exposure conventional and radiological health safety practices and principles of nuclear reactor operations.
5. Must have the ability to receive interpret and pass on orders and instructions in a manner that will maintain harmony and safety and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results.
