Choral Accompanist

Parttime accompanist beginning with the 202526 academic year. Accompany the College Choral Ensemble and the Choral Union during the Fall semester. Approximately 59 hours of accompanying per week. Eight Month Position Fall & Spring Semester (Late AugustLate December; Late JanuaryLate May). GU Choir will rehearse Mondays and Thursdays 3:30 5:00pm. Accompanist should be available to work with the choir director 1530 minutes before rehearsals as needed. In addition the Choral Union will begin rehearsing Monday evenings 6:00 7:30 from midSept. until the Messiah performance Dec. 7th. There will also be a 34 day GU Choir tour during Spring Break.

Salary Band: $29250$88000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including ones qualifications and performance equity with others in the department market rates for positions and department budget.

• Bachelors degree masters degree or artist diploma.
• Choral and general accompanying experience required.
• Excellent reading skills. Ability to play open score.
• Evidence of successful collaborative work with soloists as well as in choral setting.
• Strong technical and musical skills as a performer.
• Acquaintance with both classical and some commercial musical styles required.
• Commitment to working with undergraduates in a liberalarts setting.
• Must maintain a professional appearance; be in sympathy with and supportive of the Christian mission of Greenville University. Some night and weekend responsibilities required.
