RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION
The E&I Mechanic will utilize strong knowledge of components and systems to maintain and repair electrical equipment including but not limited to conveyors pumps motors blowers fans compressors etc. All duties must be performed in compliance with established company department and safety policies and procedures. You will execute daily work assignments and ensure timely completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Portions of job requires working with voltages up to 480V and under the guidance of NFPA 70E.
Equipment (included but not limited to):
PLCs and electronic and pneumatic loop control systems instrumentation transmitters (flow pressure temperature level dewpoint) photoeyes ultrasonic sensors motor starters electric motors variable frequency drives uninterrupted power supplies etc.
Your key responsibilities will be/what youll do:
Troubleshoot diagnose and provide effective repairs to all the components of Process Control Instrumentation loops (e.g. sensors communications control systems etc.).
Troubleshoot diagnose and effectively repair industrial electrical equipment.
Services programmable controllers and distributed Controls Systems to assure reliable operation of processes.
Services and maintains web thickness measuring systems.
Identifies problems in control systems per production request and personal observation then implements the proper action to restore the system to standard operating conditions.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) according to defined schedules and procedures including routine calibration of instruments.
Use area specific safety procedures and specific safety rules such as LTCT PPE and electrical safety rules to work on control equipment.
Mentor and train others as necessary in proper instrument and electrical troubleshooting and technology.
Provide basic process automation support as needed.
Participate in instrument & electrical reliability improvement activities as appropriate (e.g. spare parts list generation).
Participate in oncall duties as needed (may require rotational oncall duties).
Redline electrical drawings engineering documentation and other technical specifications as necessary and work with the appropriate resources to update.
As necessary provide input and support for the design installation and upgrade of instruments and control systems.
Make recommendations and prepare orders for spare parts additional stock room items tools etc.
Consult with supervisor and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting. Keep supervisor informed of problem issues.
Coordinate outside resources for maintenance and repairs.
Understand and use SAP to acquire and disburse stores material as required.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Your qualifications profile:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience within the Electrical and Instrumentation field; OR a minimum 2year technical degree within Electronics & Instrumentation; OR completion of a formal Instrument / Electrical Technician apprentice program.
Must be willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include safety equipment earplugs gloves safety glasses hardhats hairnets and steeltoed shoes.
Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work weekday day or rotating shift structure and overtime as needed on a regular basis as required.
Participate on the site Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Preferred:
Work experience on electronic and instrument control systems and component maintenance is a plus.
Working knowledge of pneumatics is preferred.
Instrumentation Technical Training Certificate or equivalent is preferred.
Trained in Electrical Safety NFPA70E is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job you may be required to stand; walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop kneel crouch crawl or climb for extended periods of time.
Shift:
12 hours shifts on 3 nights 4 days 4 nights 3 days rotating schedule (days & nights)
Day shift is 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
Shifts is 6:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m./6:00 p.m. 6:30 a.m. rotating
Pay:
Base pay rate starts at $34.37/hour for day shift
Base pay rate starts at $35.46/hour for 12hr rotating shifts with additional pay incentives of $2 shift differential holiday pay and emergency crew premium pay.
