We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Credentialing Specialist to join us remotely as a Virtual Assistant to support our provider onboarding and credentialing processes.

Job Summary:

The Medical Credentialing Specialist VA will be responsible for managing the credentialing and recredentialing processes for healthcare providers across various states and facilities in the United States. This role requires a proactive detailoriented professional with a strong understanding of credentialing standards telehealth regulations and healthcare compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage initial and ongoing credentialing and privileging processes for physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Collect verify and evaluate credentialing documents including licenses certifications education work history malpractice coverage and references.
  • Submit and track provider applications to insurance payers and health systems.
  • Maintain accurate and current provider data in credentialing databases and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. NCQA URAC CMS).
  • Liaise with internal departments payers and licensing boards to resolve credentialing issues.
  • Monitor license renewals recredentialing dates and other expirables to ensure timely action.
  • Assist with maintaining CAQH profiles and other credentialingrelated platforms.
  • Provide credentialing status updates and reports to management and clinical operations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of provider data.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in medical credentialing preferably in a telehealth or multistate healthcare setting.
  • Indepth knowledge of credentialing and payer enrollment processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards such as NCQA URAC and CMS.
  • Experience working with credentialing databases (e.g. CAQH Availity MDStaff Medallion).
  • Strong understanding of state medical board requirements and multistate licensure.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills; ability to manage multiple providers and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Certification in Credentialing Specialist (e.g. NAMSS CPCS or CPMSM) is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Virtual Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with provider enrollment for Medicare Medicaid and commercial insurers.
  • Familiarity with telehealth delivery models and multistate provider regulations.
