Primary Purpose:
Coordinate college and career readiness initiatives support students in their academic and career goals and collaborate with school staff families and higher education partners to ensure equitable access to college and career resources. Manage dual credit opportunities and ensure students can earn college credit while still in high school. Identify and recruit students who demonstrate potential for success in advanced coursework but are not currently enrolled. Expand access to rigorous academic opportunities. Monitor student success and coordinate appropriate academic and support interventions to ensure students thrive in advanced coursework and postsecondary pathways.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certifications:
Bachelors degree in education counseling or a related field
Masters degree (preferred)
Texas educator certification (preferred)
Experience:
Experience working in a school setting and collaborating with educators students and families.
Minimum of three years of experience in college counseling academic advising career services or student support roles (preferred)
Previous experience coordinating dual credit programs (preferred).
Experience with progress monitoring and intervention coordination for student success in advanced coursework (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of college admissions process financial aid scholarships andpost secondary options.
Familiarity with dual credit policies enrollment processes and articulation agreements.
Understanding of state and federal education policies related to college and career readiness.
Ability to analyze student academic data to identify potential candidates for advanced coursework and monitor progress. Experience developing and coordinating academic support services such as tutoring and mentoring.
Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with college readiness platforms (e.g. ApplyTexas Common App).
