Job Description:
The L3Harris Communication Systems (CS) segment Tactical Communications sector (TCOM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Sr Manager to lead our innovative team and drive impactful results. In this role you will manage seasoned professionals drive project execution and champion new concepts while working within a larger crossfunctional team. Experience in embedded C/C Agile Scrum processes and DevOpsbased software development is required.
Your strategic vision and technical leadership will be crucial in executing our operational plans and achieving our business goals.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for creating plans and managing the execution of one or more software projects to ensure alignment with scope schedule and budget.
- Develop workforce and staffing plans to ensure the necessary personnel are available and balanced across projects to achieve prioritized business goals.
- Support new business pursuits and opportunities through proposal creation scope definition and total effort estimation.
- Oversee the functional management of a midsized team of experienced professionals.
- Lead teams through the complete software development lifecycle and release execution utilizing best practices and adhering to companydefined processes.
- Provide crossfunctional leadership and comprehensive management requiring collaboration with manufacturing and test teams as well as Product and Program leaders.
- Analyze complex problems to understand root causes and develop innovative solutions that consider multiple variables across functional teams and disciplines.
- Articulate complex technical issues at a high level to influence leadership and stakeholders to embrace new practices approaches and concepts.
- Conduct briefings to senior leaders and influence decisions on matters of substantial importance.
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in Software Engineering Management.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Agile Software Development frameworks and methodologies with certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM).
- Understanding of embedded C/C software design approaches debugging techniques and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with new product development and HW/SW integration for radio communication devices
- Experienced in project scheduling and analysis as well as risk assessment mitigation and action planning.
- Ability to manage and coordinate project activities across different geographic locations.
