The Mission Systems EEE (Environmental Effects Engineering) lab is looking for a candidate to fill a Senior Engineering Manager position. This position will lead a team of 20bargaining unit test technicians and5 environmentaltest engineers performing aerospace product qualification testing.
The candidate will be responsible for providing leadership guidance hiring and mentoring to new engineers and technicians.A candidate for this position will prepare/deliver performance reviews provide coaching/mentoring assist in career development plan salaries reward and recognize individuals and manage staff performance as needed. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying the necessary staff facilities and equipment for the successful execution of projects. In addition to strong leadership and organizational skills candidates must have experience in bargaining unit management and aerospace product qualification testing.
The candidate will be responsible for adherence to capital and operating budgets schedules work plans and performance requirements along with the planning and budgeting for the acquisition of test domestic and international travel is rare but may be expected for this position.
What You Will Do
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead a cross functional team in the qualification testing of aerospace products
Ability to ensure development teams plan efficiently set up project schedules identify trained staff for project execution and ensure that the project is executed within budget and schedule
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to interface with Engineering Managers Technical Project Managers Program Managers and Operations Managers across all business areas within Collins Aerospace
Experience in supporting pursuit activities including bids and proposals
Experience identifying and trackingwork packages that can be workedby subcontract companies
Assigns technical resources to work assignments (workforce allocation)
Ensures compliance to development processes and standard work requirements
Actively addresses employee performance and development issues
Experience in performance review and career development planning for individual contributors
Salary planning experience
Responsible for the development and technical coaching/mentoring of staff
Responsible for onboarding and assimilation of new hires
Experience with working with bargaining unit technicians and related labor relations rules
Experience running a large qualification lab is high desired
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Must have experience in bargaining unit management and aerospace product qualification testing

The salary range for this role is 124000 USD 250000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
