Job Description
Our established client based in Kettering is seeking a handson and detailfocused Furniture Technician to join their internationally recognised Furniture Department a hub for testing consultancy and innovation. This is your chance to be part of a technical team that supports global manufacturers retailers and suppliers in ensuring the quality safety and performance of furniture products used around the world.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Preparing and conditioning furniture products for testing
- Conducting physical testing of mattresses cabinets tables and seating to UK European and international standards
- Collaborating with team members to move and set up furniture samples
- Working closely with customers to plan testing schedules and build strong relationships
- Maintaining lab cleanliness and detailed training records
- Hosting customer visits and supporting inspections onsite
What Youll Need to Succeed:
Essential:
- GCSEs in Maths English & Science (minimum Grade C / 5)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good IT skills particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent time management attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- A proactive flexible attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience in furniture or consumer product testing
- Mechanical engineering qualifications
- Previous experience in the furniture industry
