- Do you enjoy educating others and enhancing community wellbeing Join the City of Coppell as a Code Compliance Officer where youll play a crucial role in promoting public health safety and quality of life by guiding residents and businesses toward maintaining property standards.In this role youll conduct property inspections address concerns and work collaboratively with the community to ensure compliance with city codes through clear communication education and support. With a MondayFriday schedule youll have opportunities to assist the Municipal Court present appeals and partner with other city departments all while fostering a safer more vibrant city. Schedule Commitment
The Code Compliance Officer performs most duties on a MondayFriday schedule with some overtime or irregular hours worked when required.
Pay Plan
This opportunity is nonexempt and on Pay Grade #10.The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade.Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.
Hiring Range:$24.44$29.94Min$24.44 ($50842)
Mid$29.94 ($62275)
Max$35.44 ($73708)

Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid State of Texas Drivers License with a good driving record
- 3 Years of Customer Service Experience
- Code Enforcement Experience is preferred
- Code Enforcement Officer Certification from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or ability to obtain within 12 months posthire for continued employment
- Knowledge of applicable Federal State and Local laws code ordinances rules regulations policies and procedures
- Skilled in performing inspections and investigations.
- Skilled in mediating and diffusing hostile situations.
- Skilled in exercising judgment and discretion.
- Skilled in conducting research.
- Skilled in reading interpreting and explaining applicable laws codes ordinances rules regulations policies and procedures.
- Skilled in providing customer service.
- Skilled in speaking in public.
- Skilled in preparing communication education programs.
- Skilled in prioritizing organizing and managing multiple simultaneous projects.
- Skilled in preparing clear and concise reports including oral written and audio/visual presentations.
- Skilled in gathering and analyzing information and making recommendations basedon findings and organizational goals.
- Skilled in operating a computer and related software applications.
- Skilled in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals.
