The Field Museum is searching for a Donor Relations Manager Principal and Major Gifts to join our team!

The Donor Relations Manager Principal and Major Gifts foster important donor relationships between the Field Museum and its benefactors promoting positive attitudes toward giving among current and prospective donors. This position is responsible for developing a stewardship structure while implementing short and longterm stewardship plans and maximizing the ability of the principal and major giving teams to build quality donor relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages a robust donor stewardship program focusing on longterm engagement.
  • Partners with Gift Officers to develop individualized plans for specific benefactors.
  • Leads production of stewardship materials such as impact videos and donor reports in coordination with major gifts team and program staff.
  • Maintains stewardship calendar and tracks stewardship deliverables against gift agreements.
  • Manages visits by donors and prospects to the Museum including arranging behindthescenes tours and planning targeted donor events.
  • Coordinates donor recognition in alignment with recognition standards across print materials websites and public signage.
  • Handles mailings including holiday cards gifts and other communications as needed.
  • Assists with the Museums Travel Program for Trustees and Major Donors
  • Manages other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in development is preferred preferably in a cultural or academic organization.
  • Curious selfstarter with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Storyteller with a collaborative spirit who demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Raisers Edge software or a similar software program including an understanding of proposals actions and queries.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the Field Museum.

Salary: $/annually
