Job Description

The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for a leader with an urban planning background to develop global regional and city specific portfolio strategies. GREF is responsible for Amazons corporate office portfolio creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazons corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise business partnering space and occupancy planning design and construction capital investment program management facility maintenance and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF the Global Strategy team creates real estate strategies for Amazons corporate office footprint and works with both internal and external stakeholders to manage execution globally. This team works closely with GREFs Occopancy Planning Space Planning Transaction Product and Tech teams as well as regional portfolio managers.

In this role you will have the opportunity to create and own the global strategy for GREFs real estate portfolio. You will work closely with key departments within GREF and organizations across Amazon to develop and determine overall global portfolio priorities. You will work closely with the regional strategy teams to understand local priorities and opportunities to inform the overall global vision. This high visibility role will impact the success of the GREF organization and directly impact business partners across the company. The position requires strategic thinking an urban planning background datadriven decision making a customer centric mindset executive presence and strong written and verbal communication skills.

A successful candidate for this role will have deep urban planning knowledge and will be highly strategic translating complex planning inputs into actionable plans. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced dynamic environment is a must. Being selfdriven adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities is a key to success.


Key job responsibilities
Devise real estate portfolio strategy aligned with business growth and market dynamics
Lead strategic analyses for current and future space needs to help inform site selection (expansions and reductions) considering city infastructure labor markets transit sustainability efforets etc.
Help define key KPIs for the global portfolio strategy and regional strategy teams
Working closely with regional teams to ensure global priorities and strategies are leveraged and adopted
Work crossfunctionally with key partner teams to inform and evolve the global vision


12 years of urban planning real estate strategy or location strategy ideally in a fastscaling organization.
12 years using complex data sets and metrics to inform strategies
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders Clevel executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
Experience in strategic thinking about business enterprise software products and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent

MBA or Masters Degree in Urban Planning Urban Design Public Policy or related field
Experience leading location strategy for global expansion or campus development
Strong organizational planning and development skills in ambiguous environments
Conduct business and financial analysis including forecasting monitoring and reporting
Superior analytical and quantitative skills including ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
An entrepreneurial drive; proven ability to influence others
Track record of performance excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
