The Principal Systems Architect is responsible for designing creative and scalable systems and software solutions that address business and technical needs on the web and across enterprise systems. This role helps define and maintain architecture and technology standards for applications middleware databases and distributed systemsincluding both inhouse and thirdparty solutions. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct technical evaluation of thirdparty products for inclusion in TMobile solutions. Help define software development processes.
- Lead architecture efforts involving SAP ECC/S4 HANA and cloudnative supply chain integrations (e.g. WMS TMS 3PL/4PL) using REST APIs and middleware.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and collaborate with development teams for implementation across ecommerce inventory and logistics systems.
- Lead the implementation of advanced capabilities including BOPIS (Buy Online Pickup InStore) realtime delivery tracking and warehouse automation.
- Define system integration standards and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles (e.g. TOGAF).
- Own hybrid architecture designs that leverage the reliability of onprem systems with the agility of serverless containerbased cloud services.
- Participate in solution blueprinting and cloud migration planning for supply chain systemsfocusing on scalability security and costefficiency (e.g. AWS Azure OCI).
- Conduct architecture reviews create design documentation and mentor teams in applying best practices for microservices DevOps and API management.
- Collaborate across teamsProduct Owners DevOps Security and Infrastructureto deliver aligned secure and optimized solutions.
- Ensure performance tuning system resilience and data protection in both legacy and modern environments.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related subject area. (Required)
- Technology certifications (such as Java Microsoft Oracle) a plus. (Required)
- 710 years experience in business environments. (Required)
- More than 7 years of experience as software or systems architect engineer or programmer. (Required)
- 47 years experience in B2C online ecommerce systems architecture and design preferably with IBM WebSphere Commerce. (Required)
- 4 years of experience in web experience management technologies including content management search analytics and marketing automation (preferably Adobe CQ5). (Required)
- 47 years of experience in architecture and design of mobile web applications including responsive and hybrid models. (Required)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Supply Chain Leadership: Lead the endtoend design of supply chain systems (WMS TMS delivery BOPIS 3PL/4PL) aligning supply chain application design with TMobiles customerfirst values and omnichannel goals through crossfunctional collaboration.
- Smart Supply Chain Solutions: Design advanced supply chain applications using realtime tracking and predictive models while evaluating emerging technologies to keep operations cuttingedge. Evaluate and balance cost performance and complexity in application solution designs.
- Architecture Documentation: Create detailed application and solution architecture documents to support scalable sustainable and costeffective solutions. Produce architecture documents while working closely with both business and technical stakeholders.
- SAP Integration: Integrate SAP systems with modern cloudnative platforms using APIs and middleware.
- Modern Architecture Practices: Apply microservices containerization (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes) and serverless architecture principles.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in implementing supply chain features like BOPIS lastmile delivery warehouse automation and logistics integrations (TMS WMS 3PL/4PL).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure Oracle Cloud) and cloudnative development.
- Experience managing technical debt and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) in longterm architecture strategies.
- Familiarity with data privacy encryption and compliance standards in enterprise systems.
- Project leadership within Agile environments with strong communication skills to bridge business and technical teams.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications in cloud architecture SAP or enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF) are a plus.
